The first Salford true vertical tillage machine and inaugural Independent Series model, the I-1100 sets the standard for seedbed preparation and residue management. The I-1100 is the go-to conservation tillage tool for light to medium soils and medium to high residue. Originally known as the Residue Tillage Specialist (RTS), the I-1100 is equipped with the patented Coil-Tech Coulter that loosens compaction for improved root development and increased moisture storage. Build for performance, the durable I-1100 frame is the platform for the entire I-Series lineup of innovative tillage machines. The Independent Series I-1100 uses a 1 1/4-inch Coil-Tech Coulter system with 20-inch blades constructed from high-quality boron steel for durability and longevity. The independently mounted blades allow the I-Series machines to operate in a wider range of soil moisture conditions and through large amounts of residue, with less risk of plugging. The I-1100 can be equipped with 8 wave blades for maximum residue management; 13 wave blades for improved ground penetration, or a combination of the two blade types. The blades are capable of 6 inches of vertical travel providing excellent obstacle protecting and allows for the implement to travel at speeds of 8-12 mph. The I-1100’s 7.5-inch blade spacing creates a mulch finish and warms spring soil, while maintaining soil structure to prevent erosion.
